Our Story

How did the Oakley Diner come to settle here in Oakley, UT? It is a history that stretches from sea to shining sea over many decades!

1939

Diner #1107 rolls out of the nation's leading diner manufacturer in Elizabeth, New Jersey and is showcased in the 1939 New York World’s Fair.

After the fair, the Diner was purchased and relocated to Fall River, Massachusetts where it stayed for 14 years.

1953

The Diner is sold to Tommy Bordodemos and his family who relocated it to Middletown, RI.

2007

Over the course of three months, the Diner is transported across the country complete with a police escort to Oakley, UT to begin its restoration.

2008

With renovations complete, the Road Island Diner is placed in its current location and celebrates a successful opening weekend July 26.

2009

 On August 21, 2009, The Oakley Diner is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
